ANOTHER POINT OF VIEW
Review by Radioindy.com / Sean B.
"Another Point of View" is the latest CD from Chris Nole. It is an album that features piano songs that spring from the blues and jazz but come out in a funky and contemporary style. In the opener, "Careless Love", Chris expounds upon love in a toe-tapping, yet mellow, bluesy song which features some great expressions on the keys. On "When the Saints Go Marching In," Nole offers up a fresh approach to a classic tune in a fun, creole-jazz manner. "When You Go" might be the best song as Chris croons alongside his synthesizer and strings in a pleasant low tempo. This album is really a gifted piano player taking jazz and blues foundations and building upon them in a groovy, almost pop-like fashion. Whether you enjoy Randy Newman or the piano-based songs of Billy Joel, Chris Nole’s CD, "Another Point of View," is something that could be just right for you.
LITTLE RUM BOOGIE
Nothing little about it...Huge WOW!!
Review by Stephanie Dubick - CMT / Treehouse Music NetWorks
Rating: 5 out of 5 STARS
"Chris Nole’s originality as an artist continues to escalate with his latest release and first vocal record Little Rum Boogie (Sound Works Music Group, Inc., 2006). Little Rum Boogie is Nole’s music on an entirely new level that will not leave you disappointed. I was instantly drawn to Nole’s ruggedly incomparable vocal sound that is integrated with a distinctive blend of blues, jazz, soul, and ballads that define the style of this record. This combined with the right songwriting ingredients cook up the red-hot result of Little Rum Boogie. The music takes you on a journey through life’s ups and downs, and the record is structured the same way. The tracks are arranged to bring to light universal changes in one’s life, alternating from songs that bring to mind that it is okay not to take life so seriously (“Little Rum Boogie,” “Down Home Time,” “Foo Foo Food,” “Can’t Take It With You When You Go”) to those that give you the freedom to feel the bumps in the road (“Slow Road,” “Tears Tell on You,” “Saint Christopher and Me”). The songs have a deep simplicity that take you through the growth and progress of what life is about with the honest sentiment you are both on the same ride. It is exciting to hear Nole venture beyond his instrumental recordings to confirm what he can do as a songwriter. He is definitely one to pay attention to."
Yeah - I Remember The Music
Review by R J Lannon - New Age Reporter.com
"I have to be honest. I wasn’t going to review this album. It’s just that I have this thing about covers. I remember music the way I first heard it and I don’t want any other variations spoiling my memories. But fair is fair and I put the CD in the player and I was… spellbound. The simplistic beauty of Chris Nole’s solo piano and the memory of John Denver’s music took me back to when life was different for me"
SONGS OF THE WIDE HORIZON
I am in love with this album
Review by Bill Binkelman - Wind and Wire
Rating: "my highest recommendation"
"Songs of the Wide Horizon easily earns my highest recommendation. Grab this one before fall arrives, because when the leaves turn red and gold, the skies is that comforting blend of sun and clouds, and the breeze carries a hint of frost, you're going to want it when you set off in search of that perfect two-lane highway running all the way to the setting sun. Can't you just feel it in your bloodstream? I sure can!? READ MORE
BARREL HOUSE BOOGIE PIANO
destined to become a classic

"You cannot be in a bad mood while listening to good boogie piano, just like its hard
to be in a bad mood while wearing a colorful Hawaiian shirt. Chris Nole has created a masterpiece of good boogie, which is amazing because few artists (beyond Johnnie Johnson) are making current boogie piano music. This CD is original, well performed, professionally mixed, and destined to become a classic in this fabulous genre of music." P Quillen - Amazon.com
"Boogie is like fuel to me...I've got to have it to live. After cutting my teeth Claud Bolling and other great piano players, Nole stands out as a modern star. Unlike the re-released recordings from the 20s, 30s, 40s and even 50s, the quality of the recording is excellent-all the better to hear Nole's handywork. Not only is he exceptional, but each cut is a little different...some a bit funkier, some with gospel roots, etc. Some cuts feature artists on drums, bass, guitar and juice harp, but these players never overpower the black-and-whites. Fantastic addition to any boogie collection...my current new favorite (sorry Mr. B from Ann Arbor... you've been displaced)." R Roy - Amazon.com
